Since establishing the Nelson-based chartered accounting firm Strawbridge & Associates in 1998, Ross has driven the direction of the firm to meet the changing needs of his clients towards business advisory services and business development advice.
Merging with WK in 2020 was a strategic step to enable the firm to grow and diversify while maintaining the firm’s reputation as a professional and valued business partner.
Ross grew up on a high country sheep and beef farm in Hawkes Bay. He attended Massey University and graduated with a double degree – a Bachelor in Business Studies and Marketing and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration in Accounting.
He met his wife in 1981 and is a proud father of two sons and doting grandfather.
With more than three decades of accounting experience under his belt, including a 12-year stint in corporate accounting and management, Ross’s expertise lies in client relationships, client management, business valuations, business advice and restructuring.
Ross has been actively involved in the establishment and management of several other business ventures including internet retailing, hospitality, subdivision and property development, a horticultural start-up and property management, meaning he is familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities faced by entrepreneurs and business owners.
Maintaining a good life balance is also important to Ross, and outside of work he enjoys motorcycling, rugby, home renovating and fishing.
